Throughout the year Sugar Land Ice is home to a variety of special events. Among these are the annual Texas Roadhouse Meat Cutting Challenge, the Nutcracker on Ice, and a number of Hockey Tournaments. We support the sport of skating by sponsoring activities during National Skating Month and give back to the neighborhood through blood drives and other community oriented activities

One annual tradition that has become a signature event for Sugar Land Ice & Sports is our December presentation of The Nutcracker on Ice. This show is normally held the first weekend in December and showcases the skating skills of local skaters of all skill levels. Planning for the event starts in September and there is much anticipation for both rehearsals and performances. The Nutcracker on Ice is open to all skaters, regardless of age or level. The annual performance also gives our special skating teams an opportunity to showcase their hard work to a wider audience. The 2008 Nutcracker on Ice, for example, featured a special performance by the championship Houston Ice Theatre Skaters. Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center also brings in international skating talent to perform at the show. In past years we have featured such skaters as Roheen Wallace and Gev Manoukian. The Christmas spectacular is the perfect opportunity for the Sugar Land and surrounding community to get a taste of the high caliber of talent that is right here at home. Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center is dedicated to providing fun, safe entertainment. Our special events are a big part of this mission. If you have a suggestion for an activity that you feel will offer broad appeal to our skating family, we hope that you will pass your suggestion along to us.
