Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center is proud to be the home of the Houston Ice Theatre Skaters. This team is well known throughout the Ice Theatre community for its unique choreography and high quality skating skills. HITS is the 2009 Novice Division Champion for the U.S., 2009 International Novice Division Silver Medalists (Freeskate), and 2009 International Division Bronze Medalists (Choreographic Exercise. The team is coached by Shanyn Vallon and Dorothy Kowalczyk. It is a 501(c) corporation that is under written by the Texas Gulf Coast Figure Skating Club and run entirely by a dedicated team of parent volunteers.

Theatre on Ice is the United States Figure Skating Association’s newest competitive figure skating event. Teams are judged, not just on dramatic performance, but also on the quality of their skating both as individuals and as a team. Each year the number of teams entering the competition has grown and the quality of the programs, props, and standards of skating have increased dramatically. The team is coached by Shanyn Vallon and Dorothy Kowalczyk. Shanyn is a PSA Master Rated National and International Choreographer. Former featured performer of Ice Capades and Holiday on Ice. World National & Junior Olympic Choreographer. Figure Skating Professional.
HITS trains at the Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center. In addition to performing at competitive events, the team performs at exhibitions throughout the season. Watch this page for information on where the team will be performing.
