UNITY SYNCHRO!
Sugar Land Ice is proud to be the training home of UNITY Synchronized Skating Teams. UNITY is a Houston area wide effort developed to promote the sport of synchronized skating. UNITY’S currently has three teams: Preliminary, Open Juvenile, and a developmental Junior team. These teams practice weekly at Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center. In addition to supporting UNITY Synchro, Sugar Land Ice offers synchronized skating as part of its Learn To Skate program. Both a Basic Synchro and a Synchro class take place on Saturday mornings. To join the class skaters must ahve passed Basic 5. There is no age requirement. During the class the team practices the skills necessary to pass the USFS Basic Skills Synchro 1-4 badge program. Among the specialized moves that are covered are hand holds, formations, transitions, and skating to music.

The Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center Basic Skills Synchronized Skating Team celebrates after a successful performance in the Texas Gulf Coast Figure Skating Club's 2009 Spring Show.
In addition to the Saturday morning class, Sugar Land Ice sponsors special synchronized skating workshops throughout the year. Information regarding these special sessions are posted on the website and around the rink prior to registration dates.
