Patrick played youth hockey while growing up in Houston and continues to play Adult A hockey in Houston. He began his coaching career in 1997 in Sugar Land with their In-House program and over the past 10 years has coached at all age levels from Mite to Midget. He coached a Peewee B travel team in 2007-08, and had a very enjoyable season despite the team being young. He is also a certified off-ice official as he has been a goal judge for the Houston Aeros home games for 14 yrs. Patrick really enjoys working with young aspiring hockey players to help develop their hockey skills on the ice, their sense of teamwork, and the self-confidence to be successful off the ice and throughout life.

Alton Mitchell

Coach Alton was in the U.S. Army Light Infantry for eight years before studying child psychology and chemical engineering at Arizona State University. He began his coaching career 1998 with the VOSHA Mustangs and later the DYHA Firebirds, coaching A and B travel hockey teams. His training and experience have taught him how to be a leader, a teacher and a role model to the team. Coach Alton uses a positive reinforcement style of behavior modification “…not to make the team work hard, but to make them want to work hard.” He believes in setting distinctive goals for each team member and teaching them the mental and physical toughness needed to achieve their goals and dreams in hockey and life. Coach Alton has three children and his 17 year old son plays Jr. A hockey in the WSHL.

Karl Yust Jr.

Karl attended Texas Lutheran college and received a degree in Education with an emphasis in kinesiology. He has worked with special needs students in a variety of positions for the past 18 years at Alief Elsik HS. Karl spent 2 years as a student assistant basketball coach at Texas Lutheran College. He has 5 years as an in-house peewee coach, adult novice coach and 3 years as Clements HS coach. Coach Yust has been skating for 15 years–Texas High School state championships 2008-2009. Developing skills and motivating players to achieve to their potential is what he enjoys most about coaching.
