The Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center offers an excellent Figure Skating developmental programs in which skaters may enjoy a wide variety
of classes for beginners through advanced levels. Competitions, shows, exhibitions, recitals, and the US Figure Skating Basic Skills Program encourage participation from the young to the young at heart. We have a highly qualified Professional Coaching Staff that includes National coaches and former World and Olympic competitors. Each coach is a member of at least one of the following organizations recognized worldwide: Ice Skating Institute (ISI), US Figure Skating, US Figure Skating Basic Skills, Professional Skater’s Association (PSA).
For information on beginning figure skating classes, please visit the Learn To Skate page. Classes run on a semester basis so students can join a course at different times throughout the year. For figure skaters who have advanced to the point where they typically skate on Freestyle sessions, please visit the Training page for information on classes and freestyle times.
Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center is home to the well know Houston Ice Theatre Skaters (HITS). HITS has won medals every year it has competed and is well know for its unique choreography and excellent skating skills. The team is open to all skaters pre-juvenile and above. SLISC has a growing synchronized skating program. Team UNITY, a group of Houston-wide synchronized skating teams ranging from Basic Skills through Junior also calls Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center home.
